Man/Woman – the differences have been noted for centuries. While some male/female likes/dislikes can mingle and mesh, the sexes are vastly different, especially when it comes to the oasis we both call a “bathroom”.
It is an oasis. For women, surveys over the years have shown they want it to be a place to relax, getaway and not see clutter, kids or husband. This is why spas do so well – clean and kid free (men are seeing the benefits of spas…but, not as much as women). They also prefer to have more storage. Men don’t bother thinking about that.

For a man, the bathroom is also a sanctuary – to read the “newspaper” (that’s in quotes since it is usually a tablet computer now). It’s a getaway, but not in the serene way viewed as most women do.
And when it comes to the actual look, men prefer darker colors and women prefer colorful!
But, since many of us have to share a bathroom, compromise is important. When remodeling your bath, try to work together…consider middle of the road. If there’s room, put a tub and a shower! Just remember, a happy home starts with a happy wife!
